so christmas rocked :) as it always does... i do think it's bullshit that you're supposed to take down your christmas tree right after new years though... i say you're all a bunch of party poopers ;) i got some really great presents this year... a gps for my car... a really really hot dress that i hope i have an occasion to wear soon... the new pirates movie hahaha, just to name a few. and also, thank you nick for the jack sparrow action figure, i play with it nightly ;) it was also nice to see my family, it's been a while since i got to go home, so it was fun.

as for new year's eve last night, i had a blast! all my favorites came out and partied in silly hats... how can you get any better than that?

this past year was an interesting one to say the least. it was kickass from about may onward. before that... well... let's not go there, i'm trying to forget it actually, which is a shame, cause it was my last year of school. but oh well... it's the good stuff that's important. for one, let's talk about all the AMAZING new friends i've made, all the kickass concerts i've gotten to see, and well, all the people i have around me that care about me... i love you guys with all my heart and you were there when it counted :) this next year is going to be awesome, i've got a lot of things planned so watch out hehehe.

i'm now going to drink a glass of champagne and eat sushi with some of those people i love haha

soooooooooooo HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! xoxox i hope everyone gets what they deserve :)

so i was a little scared about thanksgiving this year cause i couldn't make it home, but i got invited to a big party that one of my bosses from borders was throwing. it was really nice to be there cause even though it wasn't MY family, it was still A family. a bunch of fellow borders staff were there, and the food was amazing... so was the amount of booze that everyone brought hahaha. by about 9pm, Ashley had hooked up her iPod to the giant stereo in the living room and had it blasting and everyone (even the grandparents) started dancing to funk music!! it was hilarious!! and i mean DANCING... like... we were sweaty when we left. around 12:30 i headed to the vid and sure enough i ran into two Nicks, Jason, Matt, John and then a few people from the party i was at decided to show up, so i got to hang out with Tracie, Dillon, Richard and Colin! it was the greatest thanksgiving i've had in like 10 years.

friday i woke up around 10 and went straight to the mall and target and got some kickass deals :) (i love my hoodie!!) then later that evening, i decided to meet Bruce for dinner/movie and ran into Leo on the way and found out about the tree lighting ceremony down town. so on the spur of the moment Bruce and i decided to go to that and ended up sitting outside in 30 degree weather smoking cigars for a couple hours hahaha. it was fun though, and i LOVE when downtown is lit up... it makes me so happy! we also saw Fred Claus... it was pretty cool... i like what's his name.

last night, adam and i decided to have a bonfire at our place because, well... we have a big back yard and a lot of shit to light on fire. it turned out really well, and i had a lot of fun. i will definitely be doing that again sometime soon :)

so that's my update... i'm now tired and going to sleep. byeeeeeeee

ok... so if you know me, you know i love those "most haunted" shows on the travel channel... well one time last year watching it, i began to think it was hilarious and couldn't stop laughing at it. this is a spoof someone made of it, and seriously, i cried i laughed to hard.

so yeah, i can't believe it's thanksgiving already! i'm so excited though, cause you know what tomorrow is don't you???? the day when you're allowed to put up christmas treeeeeeeeeeees! woo!

hahaha anyway, i couldn't make it home this year, and i was kind of worried i'd have nothing to do today, but once again, the most amazing people in the world have come through and i have 3 dinners to go to :) AND there's football on later!!!!! how can you go wrong?

on saturday night, there's a bonfire/party thinger happening at my house which should be pretty cool... it was adam's idea, so he invited all his friends via facebook, but since a lot of my friends aren't on it i'm in the process of letting the word spread down at the bars :) there may be a keg involved..... but there WILL definitely be s'mores.

ok... that's all i have time for, i have to get ready to go!!

xoxox i hope you're all having a good thanksgiving!

so it's been forever again since i've written in here... sorry... i suck. anyway, a lot has been going on in the past month. i've continued working my two jobs, and i've continued to love both of them which is pretty cool, i think. i finally met bruce's dog, Misty. she's absolutely adorable and SUCH a puppy (although a pretty big one). the b-town fam and i have been closing down Yogi's a lot lately after work. it's a really nice place with FABULOUS vegetarian chili. also, turns out i know 5 bartenders there hahaha.... i walked in about 3 weeks ago and see this guy who looks kind of familiar... he pointed at me and we both just looked at each other for a second and then realized it was my friend Arthur who lived on my floor in the dorm freshman year 7 YEARS AGO!! how crazy is that?!?! it's a small world.

anyway, this past weekend was one of the most kickass weekends i've had in a while. it started out on friday at work with a very plesent surprise... i got the monthly individual service award at borders :) that means, i get a cute little name tag thing that says i'm awesome, a little plaque in the staff room with my name on it... and the best part of it is the $25 gift card. then, my parents came to town!!!! we ate a $150 dinner at japanee then went to the bluebird and they met all my friends... and get this... i got my parents to do Irish Assassin shots with me!!!! they were really happy to meet all my friends, and i'm happy that they did too, because these friends of mine are basically family anyway. there's nothing like getting drunk with your parents and all your friends hahah.

saturday we got up early and drove to Nashville because my parents had never been there. we ate lunch at the artist's collony restaurant which has amazing sweet potato fries. we did a little bit of silly shopping also... i got the most ridiculous has EVER... but it fits me i think :) nashville is cool cause i always seem to see someone i know down there... this time was no exception.. i saw the parents of someone i know. after nashville we went to borders cause my parents wanted to see where i work and pick up a few books (and i have a lovely employee discount). saturday night, we ate dinner at the Irish Lion and stayed for drinks with some people... it was a nice slow evening haha.

this morning, my mom and i got up early, ate breakfast at their hotel and then went to tjmaxx where i bought 5 new pairs of shoes and a new winter coat with a fur collar lol.... i know... i didn't need more shoes, but they were christmas presents :) my mom also bought me 2 cases of sugar free red bull so i should be nice and caffinated at work for the next 2 months lol.

it was a really good weekend and i'm happy i got to spend time with my parents.

in other news... WHY DO THE COLTS KEEP LOSING? arggggggggggh. anyway, i think that's all i've got for now, i'm kinda sleepy so i think i'll watch tv and fall asleep.

~~~final thought~~~
sometimes we build walls not to keep people out, but find out who cares enough to break them down.... not all who try deserve the chance.
so, my cold seems to be going away! i still have a little bit of a cough, but i can deal with that. i'm a firm believer in not acting sick when you are (if you're able that is). i was supposed to go to nashville friday to maybe hang out with keith and/or get some food with him, but i felt crappy, so i opted to stay home, and i'm glad i did because i got some great semi-surprise company!! we watched a labyrinth (yes, david bowie) and ate reeeeeeally good pizza and it definitely put me in a really good mood dispite my cold. it made going to work that night a little easier.
yesterday i started to feel better so i decided that being sick is for losers and stayed out until 4am as usual :) low and behold, i feel infinitely better today... point made hehe. last night at the bar was a little bit odd... first of all, there were SO MANY FUCKING PEOPLE out. i had a constant stream of people through my door and only got a break when Kub told us to stop letting people in for a few minutes cause we were above fire code or something. it was like freakin little 5 weekend or something. the second reason for oddness was that a lot of people i knew came through my door... of course there were the usual friends of mine... and one very pleasant surprise hehe... and then a few people who i was just like wtf.
this launches me into this mini-rant: i hate when people i hardly have ever spoken to come in my door and look at me like they're expecting me to let them in free! i RARELY let anyone in free ever, and if i do, it's because they're on a guest list, or they're nick or my roommate hahah. (of course there are a few small exceptions) i don't know... it just irritated me when these two dudes who i spoke to for all of 3 minutes at this random party i went to in july were like "hey remember us" and i was like "oh yeah! $6 please!" hahaha. oh well. long story short, i'll tell you if you're getting in free of charge, but it's really tacky to ask.
anyway! i didn't really do a whole lot today... i cleaned a little bit and read about 300 pages in the last harry potter book, i really like it so far. i was planning to head down to nashville (indiana that is) this afternoon, but a little voice told me to wait and go during the week, so i listened to it. over this past year i've pretty much learned to trust my instincts on these things... so when i started feeling weird about going i was like... ok, not today haha. i didn't mind just hanging out around town today... and tomorrow is monday, which rocks :)
ok... i think that's all i got.
so, wednesday i worked from 7am-1... after leaving borders, i drove to indy to jesse's house where we went in his company car (which was fucking awesome) to columbus for the dropkick murphys concert. it was like we were meant to see this show. we found a parking spot on a little side street less than a block away from the concert hall!! newport music hall is my new favorite concert venue i think, it was very bluebird-esque. a couple bars up front, stage in back. we got to stand pretty damn close too. the opening band was called Everybody Out and was fronted by this hot british dude, that made me happy :) they rocked!
then of course there were the horrorpops... they kicked ass as well. they're the whole reason i went to the concert in the first place. then the Dropkick came on and the crowd went fucking crazy! they were amazing. i honestly think this was the greatest concert i've ever seen. in my opinion it blew the Disturbed concert away. why? because this venue was smaller, so you're closer to the bands, also, the Disturbed concert seemed really overly manufactured to me. during "kiss me, i'm shitfaced" Dropkick let the audience on stage! seriously, there was a mosh pit up onstage and the singer had to go behind the drums and use the drummer's mic. it was amazing. i guess i just prefer punk shows because of the close contact the bands keep with the audience... and punk mosh pits are more fun than metal ones... just an observation :) i'll post more pictures next entry as soon as jesse gives me some of the ones that he took so i can use the best.
restaurant review: the ragazzi "arte" cafe
readers digest version: it sucks. don't go there.
so yeah, last night adam and i ate at ragazzi, and i was completely disappointed. my food sucked ass... and i'm not just saying that because i'm hyper critical of italian food... but because it was gross. the sauce is terrible, it was like they put a bunch of tomatoes into a blender that weren't ripe enough and called it sauce... it was like... gritty. the pasta was gummy, and i couldn't even eat it... in fact, i ate about 3 bites and asked for a box. also... i put "arte" in quotes up there because the artwork in the place is pretty much all retarded. there were one or two good things, but the majority of the stuff up in there was lame as hell. they need to pay more attention to where they find their artists. near the end of the meal, i realized there was a big mirror on the ceiling above our table... i found myself wishing that it was really a portal to a better restaurant.
and finally, tattoo shop scandal!!!
so last night i got a text from chris b. from new breed... and all is said was "new breed's closed." i was like, what?! so yeah... word on the street is that skinquake bought out new breed yesterday and closed down the shop within a matter of hours or some shit like that... now, i haven't had a chance to talk to chris yet, so that could all be rumors... but we'll see. he's coming to town monday and we're gonna hang out, so i'll get the story then.
anyway... i think i have a cold, so i'm gonna go take a shower and all that good stuff before heading down to nashville. i'm outy.
this is gonna be a quickie cause i'm on break from work.... i had to be at borders this morning at 6am... soooo not fun. BUT... i went out last night and still had no problem getting up. it was really weird.
speaking of last night, it was the most fun i had on a karaoke night in a long time. when i got to the bar, i had a beer with my roommate and john and then chris from new breed called me and told me to come over to the shop. i went down to new breed and he was doing the most kickass tattoo i've ever seen. i mean, i can't even explain it. but anyway, i showed him my new camera and all that fun stuff then went back to the bird. this is where it gets awesome...
i ran into this guy randomly that i met a really long time ago, at karaoke in fact, and i hadn't seen him in FOREVER. well, he comes up and holds out his hand and says "this is for pirates, but i'm a ninja, so i think you should have it." i was like "huh?" but then he dropped this into my hand:
HAHAHAHA!!! how kickass is that?!?!?! he said it was a belated birthday present cause he hasn't seen me since before my birthday. it seriously made my night.
after that chris and jon (piercer jon) came down to the bar after they closed up the shop and we all hung out. it was pretty cool. i'm only sorry that i couldn't stay out later.
final thought:
you get what you give.
::edit:: i just found out i have the whole weekend off from both jobs... well... friday and saturday anyway ;) yessssssss sir.
